Hyperion Analyzer 6.5
[Java Runtime Environment 1.3.0]

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • You must have version 1.3 of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in order to run Hyperion Analyzer v.6.2.1
  • If your system has a different version or the JRE (i.e. 1.2 or 1.4) it must be uninstalled first.
  • The recomended browser is Internet Explorer 6. Other browsers may work but are not supported.
  • Please follow the instructions below to ensure Hyperion Analyzer functions correctly

1. JRE VERSION VERIFICATION

1.1 Open the Control Panel [Start - Settings - Control Panel]

1.2 Check the Java Plug-in version number as circled in the picture below

  • If there is no Java Plug-in Icon, proceed to 'Step 3: Loading Analyzer'
  • If the Java Plug-in Icon version is 1.3.x, proceed to 'Step 3: Loading Analyzer'
  • If the Java Plug-in Icon verson is not 1.3.x, proceed to 'Step 2: JRE Uninstall'

 

2. JRE UNINSTALL

You only need to perform this step if you have a different version of the JRE installed.

2.1 Open 'Add/Remove Programs in the Control Pannel

2.2 Scroll down to the Java Runtime Enviroment , SE v1.x.x and click the 'Change/Remove' button

2.3 Confirm that you want to remove the application. If prompted about the deletion of any shared files click 'YES'.

3. LOADING ANALYZER

3.1 Open Internet Explorer and go the following URL: http://minotaur.itc.health.ufl.edu/Analyzer65_Server/index.html

3.2 Click the Java Web Client option.

3.3 You will be automatically prompted to install 'Java 2 Runtime Environment. Click 'YES'

Note: If you are not automatically prompted to install the JRE, please use the link below and select 'Run this program from its current location'.:
j2re-1_3_0_02-win.exe

3.4 Click 'YES' to the license agreement.

3.5 Click 'YES' and accept the default destination

3.6 The 'Java 2 RE v 1.3.0' will be installed on your computer.

3.7 Once JRE v 1.3 is installed, the security warning below will appear. Click 'Grant Always'

Attention:: If the logo displayed in the Security Warning window is the 'cup of java' (see image below), the wrong JRE version is installed in your system - Refer to 'Step 2: JRE Uninstall'

3.8 Enter your User ID and Password to start Analyzer
Note: Make sure you type the information correctly - passwords are case sensitive!

4. COMMON ERRORS

4.1 Loading Java Applet

  • Problem: After 'JRE' is installed, the browser window may remain in a 'hanging' state.
  • Solution: Click the 'Refresh' button on your browser.

4.2 Wrong JRE Version

  • Problem: Your are not able to get passed the login screen, but receive no login error message.
  • Solution: Another version other than JRE 1.3.x is installed on your system.
    See 'Step 1: JRE Version Verificaton'

4.3 Applet Denied

  • Problem: "Java Applet Running..." comes up but Analyzer application never starts.
  • Solution: Then the applet has not been granted the rights to run.
    You must delete the file(s) in the directory : C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\.java
    Normaly the file name is 'jpicerts130_02'
    Then launch Analyzer again and see Step 3.7

4.4 Server Not Found. This issue has been resolved and it is no longer necessary to use LMHOST file resolution (Oct-28-2003).

  • Problem: "Server (hephaestus) not found" error and the login screen never comes up.
  • Solution: LMHOST file resolution and NetBIOS resolution over TCP/IP must be enabled in the local PC. Also, the following entry must be added to the local LMHOST file.
